About Us

Educational Resources Ltd is a company in Wellington, New Zealand, developing: videos, books, comics, teaching resources and social programmes to help educate and empower people.

The company's origins go back to the early 1980's when Educational Resources founder Brent Williams used his experiences as a community lawyer to produce resources to help vulnerable people enforce their legal rights. Young people, victims of abuse and family violence, immigrants, workers, and tenants were reached through real stories in drama and documentary videos, comics and posters.

Later, this work stretched into health related resources on stroke rehabilitation, heart failure, child and adolescent mental health, parenting skills and smoking cessation.

Jane Dunbier joined Educational Resources in the 1990's with a background in early childhood education, intellectually disability support services and video production. Her interests include working with families and children and she has particular skills working with people who have sensitive stories to be told.

Educational Resources has also been involved in establishing programmes for children and young people; and to educate parents who are separating on how they can reduce the harmful impact on their children.

Staff training resources have also been produced in the areas of consumer law, privacy law and customer service.

Educational Resources develops its own programme of work and also works on commission from community, government, and private organisations.
